Sonia Coleman has over 14 years experience in writing, communications and publicity. Her professional background includes association management, public relations, marketing, fundraising, and journalism. Coleman has served as the director of public relations and the director of marketing & communications for a national trade association. She also has nearly nine years of experience in the electrical industry.
Coleman loves people, words, and getting things done. She has also become a bit of a techie as she searches for ways to become more productive. She achieves results by leveraging technology, understanding people, and creating effective messages throughout various media, with the end goal always in sight. Her maiden name is Sonia Crites. Fun fact: she used to be only Sonia Crites in the world, at least according to Google.
She is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), the Missouri Professional Communicators chapter of the National Federation of Press Women (NFPW), and the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).
Coleman is currently pursuing her Master’s in Fine Arts in Writing from Lindenwood University and also holds undergraduate degrees in Communications (Journalism Emphasis) and English from Culver-Stockton College. She has won 16 national awards for writing and publication design.
